2019 Michigan 3-Event State Championship Records Recap

The 2019 Michigan 3-Event State Championship saw 9 records set.  In two divisions, all of the records were claimed by a single skier.  The records set were:

B1 – Will Meinhardt set the Boys 1 Slalom record with 3 buoys at 22 off and 30 mph (3 at 16 meters and 49 kph).  The previous record was 2 buoys at 22 off and 30 mph (2 at 16 meters and 49 kph).

B1 – Will Meinhardt set the Boys 1 Trick record with 2100 points, breaking a 20 year old record and taking all B1 records.  The previous record was 1560 points.

W1 – Sarah Schweihofer set the Women’s 1 Slalom record with 2 buoys at 35 off at 34 mph (2 at 12 meters and 55 kph).  The previous record was 1 at 35 off and 34 mph (1 at 12 meters and 55 kph).

W7 – Sandy Cummings shattered the Women’s 7 Slalom record by more than a full pass with 2.5 buoys at 32 off and 30 mph (2.5 at 13 meters and 49 kph).  The previous record was 2 buoys at 28 off and 30 mph (2 at 14.25 meters and 49 kph).

M7 – Terry Roer bettered his own Men’s 7 Jump record with a leap of 59 feet (18.1 meters).  His previous mark was 56 feet (17.2 meters).

M7 – Dan Wamhoff eclipsed his own Men’s 7 Slalom record with 3 buoys at 39.5 off and 32 mph (3 at 10.75 meters and 52 kph).  His previous record was 2 buoys at 39.5 off and 32 mph (2 at 10.75 meters and 52 kph).

OM – Cale Burdick added to his own Open Men’s Slalom record with 3 buoys at 41 off and 36 mph (3 at 10.25 meters and 58 kph).  His previous score was 1 buoy at 41 off and 36 mph (1 at 10.25 mph and 58 kph).

OM – Cale Burdick smashed his own Open Men’s Trick record with 4200 points.  His previous tally was 3220 points.

OM – Cale Burdick notched the sweep of the Open Men’s records with a Jump of 154 feet (47 meters).  The prior distance was 151 feet (46 meters).

Cale Burdick, Dan Wamhoff and Terry Roer all broke the records that they set just one year ago.
