The 2020 3 Event Michigan Championship and Novice tournament is fast approaching on July 17-19, 2020 at Lake Jepawhit in Gaines, MI.
This year’s tournament is organized differently to accommodate 2 round events in a 4 pull, pick and choose format on a single lake. Past tournaments have utilized a second lake to provide the concurrency needed to accommodate a large number of Slalom skiers desiring two rounds. Specifically, this year’s tournament has opted for an earlier start time each day and has split some Slalom divisions to compete on Sunday, which has typically been only Trick and Jump. To maximize the available time on Saturday, some Trick competition may occur after the scheduled Slalom divisions have completed.
MWSA is encouraging everyone to follow social distancing and other protective guidelines to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19. Also, to minimize the impact of COVID-19 exposure from interstate travel, the tournament is for Michigan skiers only.
In addition, to minimize contact during the registration process, MWSA is requiring that all competitors register online at the USA Water Ski website.

Please remember that you must be a MWSA member to compete at the State Championship. You can join MWSA at https://www.mwsa.org/join-mwsa/
The online registration deadline is noon on Thursday, July 16, 2020. There will be no entries accepted after that or at the site. Participants must sign two additional waivers – one is the Silver Spray Sports waiver and the other is the COVID-19 waiver from USA Water Ski. The forms do not allow the skier to fill them out online, so please make a copy of the completed/signed form and scan it or take a picture of it. Email the scan or picture to Sheryl Barber at swaz11@msn.com.
