About Collegiate Water sports
Collegiate skiing is one of the fastest growing divisions of the waterskiing world. Collegiate skiing is a great way to meet other people from your school as well as other schools in your region. What better way than to get more involved in the sport of waterskiing!!! The Michigan schools are part of the Great Lakes Conference of the Midwest Collegiate Water-Ski Association. The Midwest Region is the largest and one of the most united and spirited regions within the National Collegiate Water-Skiing Association.
These 3-Event spring and fall tournaments consist of trick, slalom and jump with 5 skiers per event for each team. Team Points are calculated by the best 4 scores out of a team of 5 within each event. The scoring of the event is like the scoring system to AWSA 3-Event, in collegiate: slalom is scored the same, trick skiing you only get 1 pass, and in jump your speed is capped at 32mph, and the ramp cannot go higher than 5ft. The team with the highest number of points has won that tournament/event.
