A Tribute to Mark Boender, our good friend
As many of our members know, Mark Boender, a dear friend of Michigan’s ski family, passed away recently, leaving an empty hole in our hearts. Mark was involved with skiing all his life. Helping all ages learn to ski; officiating and running competitive ski tournaments; working for the Michigan Water Ski Association as an active Board member; Hall of Fame inductee; Promo boat owner and strong advocate for MasterCraft Boats, are some of his many contributions to the sport. His warm concern for others, especially youngsters, wonderful personality, and enthusiasm, will be missed by all.
MWSA would like to take the lead in purchasing a legacy brick from USA Water Ski and Sport Foundation to remember Mark Boender. The Legacy Brick program provides a way to make Mark a permanent part of history by placing a commemorative brick along the trail surrounding the new world class event lake – which will be a centerpiece landmark at the Lake Myrtle Sports Park completed in the summer of 2019. Millions of visitors each year will be able to see Mark’s legacy brick reflecting his memory and contributions to the sport.
By generating funds, we can purchase one of these Legacy Bricks:
4×8 STANDARD SIZE, $175.00 –
IMPRINTED 2 LINES OF 14 CHARACTERS;
8×8 DOUBLE SIZE, $350.00 –
IMPRINTED 6 LINES OF 14 CHARACTERS;
